THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Hello everyone. We made it! Today is the last shooting day for HOMELAND Season One.

I wanted to be able to say thanks to all of you and this is the only way that I know to do it....

From myself, and the entire Costume Dept, please accept our most heartfelt gratitude for working with us on this show. You have all been fantastic!!

Thanks for reading the blog and doing your best to bring what I asked for. You cannot possibly know how helpful it was that you were participating in the process. My guess is that you learned a couple of things along the way about what colors and patterns are good (and not good) for camera, and hopefully that will come in handy when you go on other Back Ground calls.

Thanks for your patience and understanding when the mornings weren't going well and things got a little rough. Thanks for your willingness to return and do it all over again.

Those of us that have been in this business for years have all commented on how professional you have been and what a pleasure it was to be working with you as our Back Ground group. Trust me when I say, that is not always the case! We feel like we have made some friends here and hope to see many of you again in the future.

For the countless times that you have loaded your closet into your car; for the many times that you've been here for hours and on camera for 15 minutes; for keeping up with the different changes throughout the day; and for having a great attitude, you are all to be praised!

And before I close...How about a nice round of applause for Tona Dalhquist, ladies and gentlemen. Tona, you have been absolutely fantastic! Every time they threw you a curve (uh, daily) you hit it out of the park!! Thank you!

I hope to see you all next season and wish for everyone all the best. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Stephen K Randolph
Costume Supervisor

WEDNESDAY 11/9 CIA HEADQUARTERS

Hello everyone. Tomorrow is the last day of the season. Most of you probably know how this works but just in case there are any Johnny-come-lately's.....

Following you will find instructions for what to bring with you for the CIA HEADQUARTERS, tomorrow, Wednesday 11/9.

If there are any of you that worked today, Tues, 11/8, please bring the things that you wore today, along with other choices of the same kinds of things. In case we need to match anything from today, we will have it!

We are shooting the Fall. The color palette and weight of the clothing should reflect the season. Texture and pattern are great, just nothing too bold or busy.

Please bring several choices of the following things. Regardless of the roles that you were assigned it would be easier if everyone brought a bit of everything so that I have the option of dressing everyone just a bit different, if necessary.

business suits, dress shirts/blouses, ties
sport coats/blazers, slacks and skirts
casual long sleeve button front shirts and blouses
sweaters, pullover and cardigan style, sweater vests
khakis and jeans
hoodies, light weight jackets and pullover casual shirts
Don't forget the shoes that will work with all of your choices.

AGAIN, IF YOU WORKED ON TUES, 11/8, PLEASE BRING THOSE THINGS IN ADDITION TO OTHER CHOICES FROM ABOVE.

Thanks in advance for bringing all the right stuff. We'll see you on the set!

Hello everyone. We are winding it down! Following you will find instructions for what to bring for Monday, 11/7

Some of you also worked the next day at the Mansion. If you are not sure what you wore on which location, please just bring it all and we will look at the photos and sort it out. Remember, this is a direct match, meaning that what we shoot tomorrow will take place immediately after everyone ran inside. It has to match exactly!!

There are a couple of you that may be new tomorrow. Here's what you should bring:

CONGRESSMAN (Replacement) should bring choices of dark business suits in navy, black or grey. White shirts and ties that look like a lawyer or politician. Don't forget your dark dress shoes and belt to go with your choices.

FIRST THINGS FIRST....IF YOU WORKED LAST WEEK, WHATEVER THE ROLE, YOU SHOULD WEAR THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN THIS WEEK!!! We are shooting more of the same thing, so everyone needs to be dressed just as they were last week. This is very important!

If you did not work with us last week, read on for the instructions for the day........

We are playing the current season and weather. Fall and a bitty chilly. The colors that you choose should reflect the season. Please refrain from bringing clothing with large, obvious logos and/0r artwork.

Everyone should bring several choices of the clothing that is described for your character to bring. This helps us put together the best overall look for everyone. When packing your things please try to pack them as neatly as possible.

Now for a couple of general notes. These are very important!!
1. Everyone should come dressed in their first, best choice of the clothing described for your character. This includes anyone who will be getting a uniform. Women, pantyhose and tights are very helpful in this way, as I'm sure you already know.

SAT & SUNDAY 10/29-10/30 GOVERNMENT BUILDING

Hello everyone. Welcome to HOMELAND. Those of you who have worked with us before know how this works...for those of you who have not, this is how we do it.

NOTE: I AM ADDING TO THIS SAME POST FOR ADDITIONAL CATEGORIES FOR SUNDAY. IF THAT APPLIES TO YOU...READ ON.

Following you will find specific instructions about the things that you should bring for the roles that you will be playing. You will also find general instructions for the day and helpful hints that will make every one's life, including your own easier.

We are playing the current season and weather. Fall and a bit chilly. The colors that you choose should reflect the season. We would also be fine with some of the softer, muted colors of Spring. Just none of the bright, overly saturated colors that you find in the Summer. Pattern and texture are good, just nothing too bold or busy. Please, refrain from bringing clothing with large, obvious logos and/or artwork. Whatever is chosen for you to wear on Saturday will be what you have to wear again on Sunday. It will have to match exactly since we are shooting the same scene on both days.

Everyone should bring choices of the clothing that is described for your character to bring. This helps us put together the best overall look for everyone. The more choices you bring, the better we can make you look. When packing your things, please try to put them in an orderly manner and one that will help them look as good as possible out of your bag. We will not be able to press or steam your clothing as there are so many of you. I realize what packing clothes does to them and that is fine, but shoving them into a bag without even folding them is not going to make them look their best :-) Thank you!

Now for a couple of general notes. These are very important!
1. Everyone should come dressed in their first, best choice of the clothing described for your character. You should bring your other options with you, but should be dressed for your role when you arrive. We have 250 people to process and this one thing will help immeasurably in getting everyone done in a timely manner. Of course, if you are playing one of the uniformed roles, you will be receiving your costume from the Costume Dept.

2. It is supposed to be chilly on both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will be around 60. You will not be allowed to wear heavy coats on camera as they are too heavy for our Fall season. Light weight jackets worn in Fall will be allowed and asked for. Everyone should come prepared with thermal underwear or silks that can be worn under your clothing to keep you warm. This includes anyone who will be getting a uniform from the Costume Dept. The Costume Dept will not be able to provide these things for all of you, so you should come prepared. You will be able to wear light weight jackets that are typical of Fall and will be asked to bring them, but heavy Winter coats will not be allowed on camera. Women, pantyhose/tights are very helpful for this, as I'm sure you already know.

3. When you arrive at Extras Holding and are checked in by the AD Dept, there will signs that will divide you up into the categories of the roles that you are playing. It is very important that you go to your designated group and stay there until you have been checked out by the Costume Dept. This will help us to get through everyone more quickly. Our mornings on these days will be best described as "organized chaos," and we will be insistent that everyone follow the rules and protocol set forth. Thank you!

And now for the costume information.....
Once again, everyone should bring options of the items requested for your role, while wearing your first, best choice.

DC COPS, FPS, SWAT will be receiving your costumes from the Costume Dept. Many of you have already been pre-fit. Everyone should bring with you a white, short sleeve crew neck tee shirt and black socks. Don't forget your thermal underwear/silks to stay warm.

SECRET SERVICE should all wear and bring choices of dark suits: black, navy or grey. These suits should be relatively simple and free of obvious patterns or pin striping. Subtle is fine. Men should all have a white, long sleeve button front dress shirt. This shirt should have a plain collar, no button-down collars. Women should be in simple white, button front long sleeve blouses. Ties should be dark in color: black, grey, navy, burgundy, dk green, etc. They should also be simple in pattern and tone. The Secret Service is not known for being on the leading edge of fashion, and in fact work to blend in. Therefore, the ties that they wear are relatively plain and simple. Don't forget your dark dress shoes and belts to go with your suits. You should all remember to bring thermal underwear/silks with you to keep warm under your suits.

CIA should wear and bring choices of dark business suits. This would be slack suits for the women. Lighter colored shirts/blouses like tan, cream, light blue, light grey. Men should bring darker ties with simple patterns. Don't forget the dark dress shoes and belts to work with your choices. CIA should also bring a light weight windbreaker that could be worn over dress pants and dress shirt in case we want to go with the "undercover" look.

CAMERAMEN should wear and bring casual clothing choices to include non-ripped jeans, khakis, cargo pants, long sleeve button front and pullover shirts/blouses. Also include things like light weight jackets, hoodies, pullover/zip front fleece and vests. Also, caps and knitted caps without logos would be great for this look. This is a layered look and this will also help with keeping everyone warm. Don't forget the appropriate shoes/boots that will work for this look.

PAPARAZZI should wear and bring clothing in mostly or all dark colors like black, grey, navy, dk green, etc. These item should include dark non-ripped jeans, cargo pants, dark slacks, long sleeve button front and pullover shirts/blouses. Also include light weight jackets, hoodies, pullover/zip front fleece and vests. Also, caps and knitted caps without logos would be great for this layered look. Clothing that has visible pockets like cargo pants and utility vests are great for this look as a Paparazzi cameraman will always have need of storage for cameras, film, etc. Don't forget the appropriate shoes/boots that will work for this look. Thermal underwear/silks reminder.

PRESS should wear and bring choices to include clothing from casual (read CAMERAMEN above) to dressy (read ON-AIR REPORTERS below). We might want to have someone in jeans and a blazer, or Dockers and a sweater...Please read both above and below and wear and bring choices that will hit both of them.

ON-AIR REPORTERS should wear and bring choices of business suits in darker colors like black, navy, brown, grey. Light colored shirts and blouses like light blue, tan, cream, light grey, etc. Ties can have color but should be relatively simple in terms of design and pattern. Women may certainly bring scarves and other accessories that will individualize their look. Don't forget the appropriate shoes and belts for your clothing choices. Thermal underwear/silks/pantyhose reminder.

GAWKERS/ONLOOKERS should all wear and bring nice casual clothing choices to include nice, non ripped jeans, khakis, slacks and skirts. Also choices of long sleeve button front and pullover shirts and blouses. Light weight pullover sweaters and cardigans. Please remember the color palette mentioned above and to refrain from articles with obvious logos and artwork. Everyone should bring at least two choices of light weight jackets/hoodies/fleece zip and pullovers. We will be using all of you in a couple of different places and the easiest way to make the change is to change an outer layer such as a jacket. In this way, the same crowd can be made to look different in a quick, convincing way. Don't forget the shoes/boots to go with your clothing choices. Thermal underwear/silks/pantyhose reminder.

Note from the Props Dept: If you have a camera and camera bag, please bring that along as a prop. Thanks!

BRODY TOWN CAR DRIVER should wear the same exact costume that was worn on Wed, 10/26, while working as the TOWN CAR DRIVER.

BUNKER MEN AND WOMEN & MILITARY BRASS Some of you have been to the Costume Dept for fittings. The men that have not been in for fittings should all wear and bring choices of suits in either black, navy or grey. No brown please... It's a design thing. Lighter colored shirts in cream, tan, light grey, light blue. Ties can have color but the patterns should be relatively simple. You are meant to be powerful politicians and so, should dress the part. Dark dress shoes and belts to complete your look. All of you, men and women, should bring thermal underwear/silks/pantyhose-tights to wear under your chosen costume as you will not be wearing coats on camera and it will be chilly on the days that we shoot this. This also goes for our Military Brass.

I want to thank everyone in advance for bringing all the right things and for coming dressed in your first, best options. It will be a busy and hectic 2 days, but with your help and enthusiasm we will make it happen!! We look forward to meeting and working with you all.
See you on the Set!!!!

Following you will find information about the Background Characters that you have been asked to play and the things that we would like you to bring for those roles. Please bring as many options of the things requested so that we have choices. The more choices we have, the better we are able to make everyone look.

We are playing Late Summer/Early Fall in our story. So weather and temperature much like we are having now here in North Carolina. The color palette for this should be muted, softer colors and things that look like they might be faded or not "brand new." Texture and pattern are good just nothing too bold or busy. Please refrain from bringing clothing with large obvious logos or artwork on them.

We will be shooting both inside and outside the diner, and in true Hollywood fashion, we will be asking many of you to play folks in both places. That means that we need enough clothing choices for everyone to have two different looks. So please bring plenty of the things listed below.

This is meant to be a diner in the middle of nowhere beside a roadside hotel, so the customers are not to look too upscale. The upside of that is you will all be comfortable:-)

PATRONS should all bring several choices of casual clothing to include things like jeans, khakis, cargo pants, long and short sleeve casual button front shirts/blouses, long and short sleeve pullover shirts/tops and tee shirts. Everyone should bring choices of light weight sweaters and cardigans, hoodies and light weight jackets. Casual shoes/boots that would work with your options. Men bring caps that don't have obvious logos. Ladies bring purses/handbags that will work with your clothing options.

WAITRESSES, BARTENDER, CASHIER & BUSBOY will all be given shirts that will serve as your "uniform" for the diner. Everyone should bring choices of nice, non-ripped jeans, khakis and cargo pants. Also, please bring choices of shoes to include casual shoes like TopSiders and sneakers. Don't forget your belts. Ladies your jewelry choices should be small and simple.

COOK should bring choices of non-ripped jeans and khaki/Docker type pants. Please also bring a few choices of long sleeve button front shirts and short sleeve shirts. Casual shoes and sneakers. Also, bring some choices of hats without logos, if you have them.

Thanks in advance to everyone for bringing great stuff. We look forward to meeting all of you.

TUESDAY 10/11 CIA HEADQUARTERS

Hello everyone. Welcome to HOMELAND and thanks for joining us. Those of you who have worked with us before know how this works. For those of you who have not, here goes....

Following you will find general information as well as specific information about the character roles that you have been told you will play.

GENERAL NOTE: Please note that there are wardrobe differences within the CIA. If you are a CIA AGENT please bring the clothes requested for that. If you are a CIA TECH please bring the clothes requested for that....not the clothes requested for a CIA AGENT.
What a silly mistake, you might say, but let me assure you it has happened. There are reasons that everyone is cast in different roles. Please do not take it upon yourselves to re-assign your role. Ok, I'll step down from the soapbox now and get on with it. :-)

We are moving into Late Summer/Early Autumn in the story. Softer colors from Spring will still work as well as colors associated with the fall. Pattern and texture are great, just as long as it is nothing too bold or busy. This time of the year is starting to cool off a bit, so long sleeves are more in order.

CIA TECHS are the most casual level of dress. These folks should bring several options of things to include khakis, slacks/skirts, nice non ripped jeans. Sweaters, cardigans, hoodies. Polo shirts without logos and long sleeved casual button front shirts and blouses. Don't forget the appropriate shoe choices for this look.

CIA ANALYSTS are in the mid-level of dress. These folks should bring several options of things to include sport coats/blazers, ties, khakis, slacks, skirts, jeans. Long sleeve button front dress and casual shirts/blouses. Light weight sweaters, cardigans, vests, light weight jackets. Don't forget the shoes and belts and other accessories that would work with your clothing choices.

CIA SUITS are the most dressed. These folks should bring several choices of dark business suits, lighter colored shirts/blouses such as light blue, light grey, cream, tan and white. Darker, simple ties. Don't forget your dress shoes and belts.

CIA AGENTS will be more of a mixed bag. Everyone should bring choices to include dark suits, sport coats and slacks/skirts, dress shirts/blouses and dark ties. Also, nice non ripped jeans, darker casual long sleeve button front shirts, light weight jackets such as leather and other nice casual jackets.

US MARSHALLS, FBI AGENTS, DEPT OF DEFENSE & HOMELAND SECURITY will all need that political, Washington look. This means dark business suits, lighter colored shirts/blouses such as tan, cream, white, light blue and grey, and simple dark ties. Don't forget your dress belt and shoes to go with your choices.

MILITARY BRASS will be given a uniform by the Costume Dept.

Thanks to everyone in advance for bringing all the right stuff. We look forward to see you on the set.

Hello everyone. Thanks for joining us on HOMELAND. Some of you may have worked with us in the past and know how this goes, if you have not, then I'll tell ya....

Following you will find the categories and names of the characters that you will be playing on Monday. With these you will find the specs of the things that we would like you to bring for these roles. Please bring as many choices of the things that you find here. The more choices we have, the better we are able to make everyone look.

We are playing Late Summer/Early Fall in the story. It is not cold yet, but it is not Summer hot anymore. Kind of like it is outside right now. The palette can be on of softer, muted colors, nothing to bright or overly saturated. Tans, browns, pale blues and greens, soft yellows, rusts, dark green, navy, grey, cream, denim/chambray blue, etc. Texture and pattern are good, just nothing too busy or too bold.

ND VISITORS, ELDERLY TOURISTS, ASIAN TOURISTS, TEACHER & TEACHERS AIDE should all bring options of casual clothing to include khakis, non ripped jeans, cargo pants, skirts and dresses. Long and short sleeve button front casual shirts/tops, long and short sleeve casual pullover shirts and tops. Comfortable shoes meant for walking. No flip flops will be on camera so if you wear them please bring something else like a sneaker or other casual shoe to be worn on camera. Also everyone should bring a cardigan or light weight jacket or hoodie to wear as a thin outer layer, should we need them. The Props Dept has asked that you all bring things like backpacks, handbags, camera bags and the like. Things that you would see tourists in these outdoor settings carrying.

SCHOOL KIDS should all bring several choices of casual clothing that you would wear to school or on a field trip. These should include pants, khakis, jeans, skirts and dresses, long and short sleeve button front and pullover tops. Please also bring a light weight jacket, cardigan or light pullover sweater and hoodies. Please do not bring anything with specific logos or artwork on them as we cannot use them. For example, don't bring anything that is obviously Disney or Dora Explorer, etc. We are not licensed to use these kinds of items without getting clearance on them.
Everyone should bring sneakers or boots or any other comfortable shoes that will work with the clothes you bring. Also, all SCHOOL KIDS should bring their backpacks/school bags.

TUESDAY 10/4 FARRAGUT PARK

Hello all. This post will give you information about what you will need for tomorrow, Tuesday, 10/4.

Most of you will be returning from Monday, 10/3 and will need to bring and wear exactly what you wore on camera then. This is a matching sequence that will continue the action further so everyone must look the same.

If you are not returning and will be new additions tomorrow, please scroll down and read the previous post. This will give you the information that everyone used to dress for Monday. The exceptions to this are the COPS, FIREMEN & FBI. These categories will be listed below in this post.

DC COPS will be given uniforms by the Costume Dept. Please bring a white, crew neck tee shirt, black socks and black ankle boots or solid black lace sneakers.

FIREMEN should have already been contacted by our Background Casting director, Tona. As per her instructions, please bring the uniform/turnout gear that you would be wearing to respond to a fire/emergency. As I understand, this should include the helmet, jacket and stirrup boots. You know what you would need, please bring it all, with our thanks!

FBI should bring choices of dark business suits, white, cream and other light colored dress shirts, and dark, simply patterned ties. Don't forget your black/dark dress shoes and belts.

MON & TUES 10/3-10/4 FARRAGUT PARK

Hello all. Welcome to Homeland. Some of you may have been with us before and know how this works. For those of you who have not, here's the skinny...

Following you will find instructions for the clothes to bring for the next two days for your roles as Background Players. Also you will find other helpful hints and suggestions. Please read everything carefully and bring as many options of the kinds of clothing requested that you have. That will help us make the best choices for everyone.

We are playing Summer in our story. We would prefer the more muted, softer colors of Spring than the bold, bright colors of summer. Good colors are pale greens and blues, soft yellows and red, dk green, navy, grey, brown, tan, cream, etc. Pattern and texture are great, just nothing too bold or busy. Although there will be many different kinds of people, we will want the group as a whole to have a visual cohesion, with no one person or persons standing out too much because of color or a pattern that is too busy. Please choose things that do not have large, obvious logos or artwork as we cannot use them because of licensing issues.

GENERAL NOTES: It will probably be cool when you report in the morning but warm up as the day goes on. Whatever we establish you in on camera has to stay the same for the next two days. Please bring something to keep you warm when you arrive and off camera, but understand that it will need to look like warm weather on screen. A couple of lighter layers is the best way to accomplish this.

You will be wearing the same clothes for the next two days. Whatever we see you in on Monday will have to be repeated exactly on Tuesday. We will not be keeping your things overnight so you will be responsible for bringing the exact same things that you wore on both days.

Everyone will be asked to run in the scene, so please remember this when choosing your shoe choices.

In the interest of getting everyone ready in the morning, you should wear your first, best choice of the things described and bring your other options for those clothes with you. We have a short amount of time to get everyone looked at and ready, and this will be helpful because you may choose the perfect thing and we won't have to change you. This goes for those of you that are playing Business Men and Women as well. It may be less comfortable to wear your choice in, but it will save tremendous amounts of time. Thank you!

Final note. Many of you may be positioned in the "kill zone" of the explosion in the script. There is no real explosion, don't worry. The reason I bring this up is that on Tuesday we will be shooting the portion after the blast so we may have to dust you down with our stage dust and some of you may have blood applied as if you have been hurt. These are items that are formulated to come out of clothing. That's why we use them. This is just advance notice of what may happen. If you have options on the clothes that we are asking you to bring that you consider precious, please don't bring those

Here we go....

WALKER LOOK ALIKE will be provided clothing by the costume dept. Please bring a black pair of socks to wear.

BUSINESS MEN AND WOMEN please bring options of business suits, shirts/ties, blouses, sport coats and slacks and skirts. Keep the shirts and blouses lighter in color. Don't forget your shoes and belts to go with these. Also, the Prop Dept is asking that you bring a briefcase or work bag to carry with you. BUSINESS MEN should also include a pair of khaki pants, a polo type shirt and a light weight jacket or windbreaker.

TEACHER, TEACHER'S AIDE, SCHOOL KIDS should all bring options of clothing appropriate to wear to school. Teacher and Aide should bring choices to include slacks and skirts, blouses and light weight sweaters and jackets. Kids should bring long pants/jeans, skirts, dresses, sneakers that are not too bright. Remember not to bring things with logos or identifiable artwork. For example, no Disney or Dora the Explorer. The kids should also bring their school backpacks/bags.

ARTIST & DRUMMER should bring options to include jeans, cargos, tees, hoodies, pullover and button front tops, light weight jackets and sweaters. Caps would be good. Think artistically and bohemian.

PANHANDLER should bring less nice things. If you have gardening or yard clothes that kind of thing would be great. Flannel shirts, hoodies, sweat shirts, light jackets, jeans or pants that have stains or look old, sneakers that have seen better days, work boots, knit caps. A down-on-your-luck look.

MOM WITH STROLLER should bring options that include jeans and tops, sweaters, jogging or exercise suits if you have them, sneakers.

TEEN GIRLS should bring choices to include jeans that are more basic and not ripped, tops both long and short sleeve, cardigans, sweaters, hoodies and light weight jackets. You should also bring backpacks.

SKATEBOARDERS should bring choices of boarding clothes to include jeans, tees, hoodies, sweatshirts and light weight jackets, sneakers. Also bring any accessories that you like such as chain wallets, bandannas, etc. You should also bring your skateboards!

FAMILY OF 4 & TOURISTS should bring options to include everyday casual clothing such as non-ripped jeans, khakis, cargos, button front tops, pullover tops, polo shirts, sweaters and light weight jackets. Tourists could bring some cameras and camera cases.

CHAUFFEUR should bring your black suit and white shirt. Black shoes and belt.

CIA, FRANKLIN & PATRELLI should all bring options of dark suits and light colored dress shirts with ties. We would also like you to bring a more casual option to include khaki pants, jeans and polo type shirts and a light weight jacket.

Again a reminder to wear your first best options and bring the rest of your choices with you.
Thanks in advance for coming to work with us on HOMELAND and for bringing all the good stuff. We look forward to meeting you. See you on the set!!

Hello all. We will be at the Brody House tomorrow playing Secret Service...

Following find what we need for you to bring for your role as a Background Player.

Subtle versions of these may be acceptable. If you have more than one dark suit please bring them all so that we may make the decision as to which one is best.

You should also bring either white or cream colored, long sleeve dress shirts. Please bring dark, simple ties. These can be in navy, black, brown, dk green, etc. They should not have much contrast between the colors. They do not have to be solid, just no vivid patterns with a great deal of contrast.

WEDNESDAY 9/28 CIA HEADQUARTERS

Hello everyone. Thanks for joining us on HOMELAND. Many of you will be returning and know the drill, some of you may be new...

Following you will find the instructions for what to bring for your role(s) as a background player.
Please read and follow all instructions as closely as you possibly can. It is very important to bring as much of what we ask for that you have. It gives us more options, and more options means that everyone looks as great as possible!!

We are shooting Summer in our story but would prefer your color choices to be more muted and softer colors, like those of Spring. Solids are good, as is texture and pattern, just nothing too busy or bold. Bright white is usually too much for the camera to take, except for maybe a dress shirt that will be mostly covered by a jacket and tie. Also, true bright red is a no-no. As always, clothing with large obvious logos are not good choices.

We will be shooting 2 story days so everyone will need enough options to be able to pull both days.

CIA ANALYSTS, CIA TECHS, CIA AGENTS, ADMIN TYPES & LIBRARIAN CLERK:
Regardless of the role that you have been told that you will play, the reality is we need to have the flexibility to put folks in a variety of looks. We always have to play to the scene. For that reason I would like everyone that is working tomorrow to bring choices of all of the following:

business suits, dress shirts/blouses, ties
sport coats/blazers
casual button front shirts and blouses, long and short sleeve
sweaters, pullover and cardigan, sweater vests
slacks and skirts, khakis and jeans
hoodies, light weight jackets and pullover casual shirts
Don't forget the shoes that will work with all of your options.

FBI AGENTS should bring options of dark suits and light colored shirts including white, cream, tan, light grey and light blue. Please do not bring what we call royal or french blue as it is not a good color for the camera. You should also bring dark, subtle ties. They can have pattern, just nothing too bold or busy. Don't forget your dark dress shoes and belts.

VP SECRET SERVICE should bring options of dark suits, preferably black, navy and grey. Also bring either white or cream colored shirts. Please bring dark, simple ties without too much pattern or color. Those of you working as SECRET SERVICE tomorrow will be working other days in this episode and will have to repeat this same exact outfit for continuity. This is just a heads up now that you will have to wear the identical outfit for several days and will have to bring everything with you each time.

Thank you in advance for bringing all the great stuff. We look forward to seeing you again, or meeting you for the first time. See you on the set!!

WEDNESDAY 9/21 GROCERY STORE, DIPLOMAT'S HOUSE

The season is Summer but we would prefer to keep the colors a bit more muted like the colors of Spring and less vibrant than the colors of Summer. Texture and pattern are great, just nothing too crazy busy. Please, no solid or mostly white clothing. It is difficult for the camera to take.

It looks as if most everyone will be playing multiple roles in multiple screen days. Please read and follow all the costume instructions that apply to all the roles you will be playing.

CASHIERS should bring options to include non-ripped, basic jeans, khakis and cargos. Please also bring several options of long and short sleeve casual tops. Sneakers, boat shoes and other casual shoes. Don't forget your belts.

SHOPPERS should bring several options of casual clothing that you would wear to the mall, the grocery store or a day out. These should include things like non-ripped jeans, khakis, skirts, casual dresses, long and short sleeve casual shirts and blouses, light weight jackets and sweaters. Casual shoes to go with your options. Don't forget your belts. Ladies please bring a handbag that would work with your costume options.

NEIGHBORS should bring several options of casual clothing that you would wear to the store, around the house and in your neighborhood. These should include things like non-ripped jeans, khakis, skirts, casual dresses, long and short sleeve casual shirts and blouses, light weight jackets and sweaters. If you have gardening clothes, it might be good to throw some of that in as an option and someone could be working in the yard. SECRET SERVICE MEN should bring options of dark suits in black, grey and navy. Light colored shirts like white, tan, cream, light grey, pale blue. Please do not bring shirts that are what we call French Blue. That blue is hard for the camera to take.

TUESDAY 9/20 RESTAURANT, DRESS SHOP, PARKING LOT

Hello everyone. Thanks for joining us. Following you will find the instructions for the things that we would like you to bring for your characters tomorrow. Many on you may be in several different scenes, so please read all categories that pertain to you.

RESTAURANT

COOK should bring a white tee shirt, black pants and black shoes or sneakers. We will be giving you a cook's coat and apron.

WAITRESSES should bring a choices of plain, non ripped up jeans and dark and light fades, and dark sneakers. We will be giving you a "uniform" tee and an apron

DINERS/PASSERSBY should bring options of clothing to include casual to business wear. We will want to mix it up with what the diner customers are wearing so everyone should bring several options of each. This will also be helpful as we will be pulling outfits for the other scenes for some of you. The season is Summer but please keep your colors less bright and more muted like the colors for Spring. Texture and pattern are good, just nothing too busy or bold. Casual should include things like jeans, khakis, skirts, casual long and short sleeve blouses, light weight jackets and sweaters. Business to include suits and ties, with dress shirts and blouses, sport coats and blazers, slacks, skirts and dresses. Men's ties should not be too busy or bold. Don't forget the appropriate shoes for all of your choices.

Not too high end, but also not the 'Bargain Basement." Please include dress slacks, skirts, dresses, long and short sleeve blouses and shirts. Ladies, don't forget a nice handbag for your choices. The season is Summer but the colors should be more muted like the colors of Spring. Nothing to bright, too bold or busy. Simple and sophisticated would be better. And if there are "husbands" who are grudgingly shopping with their wives in the store, the same would apply. Nice casual to business/country club wear.

PARKING LOT

DRIVERS should all bring casual choices that would be worn to the grocery or the mall for shopping or a day out. This should include jeans, khakis, skirts, casual dresses, long and short sleeve casual shirts and blouses, light weight jackets and sweaters. Colors should be more muted like Spring colors. Pattern and texture are welcome, just nothing too bright or bold or busy.

Most of you may be working in all the scenes so please bring a wide range of clothing choices from casual to business and we will have not problem making you look different, and great, in every scene.

WEDNESDAY, 9/14 SHELTER & MOSQUE

Hello all. Thanks for joining us. In case you have not worked with us before, here's how it goes...

Below you will find the listing for the character roles and the kinds of things that we would like you to bring for those. Please bring as many choices as possible, it will help us make you look better.

Some of you may be working in more than one category, so please read and comply with all the information that applies to you.

Here we go....

SOCIAL WORKERS should bring options that include khakis, slacks, skirts, nice jeans, casual button front shirts and blouses, both long and short sleeves. Light weight sweaters and jackets, cardigans, etc. Please no logos.

SHELTER MEN should bring your gardening/yard clothes, work clothes, etc. If you have shirts and pants with stains on them, those are the ones. This look is really a layered look. Stained pants, a thermal or long sleeve tee with holes and a stained or faded flannel shirt with old dirty tennis shoes or work boots. Also knit caps and old hooded sweatshirts. Please no logos that we can't eliminate. This is a typical look and there can certainly be variety and should be. They are looking for some folks to be very "typical" and for others to just look a bit down on their luck. So bring some of each. Bring all your worst clothes and shoes but also bring some things that just might look a bit out of date or ill fitting. The colors for all this should be in browns and greys, greens, black, navy, tans. Nothing too colorful. Even if it's dirty a bright color can look too happy. This is a fun one, so bring all the clothes that your wife has been nagging you to throw away! :-)

CORONERS AND FBI FORENSICS should bring options that include dark slacks and light colored button front shirts and dark ties. Also bring some more casual clothing like khakis and polo shirts and casual long sleeve button front shirts. Don't forget the shoes and belts that will work with these looks.

PROTESTERS/MALE MUSLIMS should bring any traditional Muslim/cultural clothing that you may have. This mosque is a multi-cultural mosque so there will be several cultures that would be there. Also bring choices to include more "western" clothing such as slacks, khakis, jeans, polo shirts, long and short sleeve button front shirts, light weight jackets and sweaters. Please keep the colors muted and darker, such as brown, tan, greens, navy, black. Texture and pattern are good, just nothing too busy or too large or bold.

DC COPS will be given a uniform by the costume department. Please bring a white, crew neck tee shirt and a pair of black socks.

FBI TACTICAL will be given uniforms by the costume department. Please bring a black pair of socks.

It is going to be a busy day, but it should be fun. Thanks in advance for bring all the good stuff. We look forward to meeting you and we'll see you on the set!!

TUESDAY 9/13 GAINES MANSION/PARTY

Hello everyone. Looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow. If you are new, here's how it works.....
Following you will find the specs for the things that we want you to bring for your respective characters. Some of you came in last week and were told then which things to bring, some of your were told to bring a couple of different things, so don't forget all that was mentioned.

BARTENDER, WAITERS & WAITRESS, VALETS should all bring black dress pants and a white, long sleeve plain dress shirt. Also, black shoes that are appropriate to serve in and a black belt for your pants. Waitress, please also bring a knee length, or there about, plain black skirt.
You will be given vests and ties by the costume dept.

YOUNG MALE COLLECTING COATS should bring a black or dark suit, a white or cream colored long sleeve dress shirt, and a dark tie. Don't forget your black dress shoes and belt.

BRODY CHAUFFEUR please bring the suit and tie, shoes and belt that you wore the last time that you worked. We will have the shirt ready for you.

CHAUFFEURS please bring black suits, white long sleeve dress shirts and a dark tie. Also, black dress shoes and belt.

HEAD DEMOCRATIC NAT'L COMMITTEE, VIP GUEST, BRODY ENTOURAGE, DC MATRONS
will all come the GUESTS at the party. Many of you may know who you are and some of these may not have been chose yet. Any of you that did not come in last week for the pre-fit, please read the instructions below for GUESTS and bring what you find listed there.

GUESTS
MEN The look here is one of Politicians and Lawyers, Power brokers and Lobbyists. Washington DC movers and shakers. The look is conservative and traditional. This party is a meeting of the elite and you should look the part. Men should all bring options of dark business suits in Black, Navy, Charcoal Grey, etc. Subtle texture and striping will be fine, but nothing that is too obvious with bold pinstripes or other textures. Elegance is what we are after. You should bring white and cream colored solid dress shirts. Ties are the "make or break" piece of the ensemble. Bring your most sophisticated, most beautiful ties. As a rule the Varsity Stripe tie is a younger, school boy, less formal look. These ties usually have a bold contrast between the colors of the stripes and the background. Stripes are good; just keep the contrast in colors to a more subtle level. Other good choices will be patterns such as paisley, medallions, crests, etc. An overly busy tie can can look less expensive, so if in doubt, err toward the simpler side. Don't forget your dress shoes and dress belt to complete the look.

WOMEN Society ladies that really run the town. Politician and Lawyer wives. Matrons of the town that they own. Sophistication is the catch word here. This is not a formal affair, so hemlines should hover around the knee. It is really more of a cocktail affair, but will take place in the afternoon, so a lot of beading and sequins might not be the right call. We are looking for a highly tailored, streamlined look, without a lot of extra detailing. Some detail is fine; just nothing to overly embellished. Silk, satin, crepe de chin are all fabrics that you think of for party wear. Sheathe dresses that come with a matching jacket. A beautifully tailored skirt with a stunning long sleeve blouse silk blouse. Even the right pair of tuxedo trousers, paired with a silk tank and jacket. These are all just suggestions to give you the right direction and to get you thinking.
NOTE: If you do choose to bring trouser options, please also bring dress and skirt options.
We would prefer that you not bring all black. It is a party in the Late Spring/Summer. Pale blues and pinks, soft yellows, greens and creams, taupe and beige and grey. Even some subtle metallic would be nice. Copper, gold and sliver fabrics or subtle embellishments. We would prefer that your choices be mostly solid in color with little to no print. This will help establish the sleek, more sophisticated backdrop against which our principles will play. Bring your nicest and most glamorous jewelry to complete the look. Remember, it is Washington DC and, Democrat or Republican, the look is conservative and traditional, but we want the elegance factor as well. Don't forget the shoes that work with your choices and a small party/cocktail bag.

We are looking forward to seeing you all with your fancy duds in hand. Thanks in advance for all the great things that you will be bringing to make the party beautiful. See you on the set!!!

MONDAY 9/12 CIA & D.C BOULEVARD

Hello everyone, hope you're having a great weekend! Following find the Costume instructions for Monday, 9/12.

We are playing Late Spring/Early Summer in our story so your choices should work with this season. When choosing colors, please think more of the muted, softer colors of Spring rather than the overly saturated, brighter colors of Summer. Texture and pattern are welcome, just nothing too bold or busy. Black and white patterns are usually too graphic for the camera because they have a lot of contrast. Bright red is also not very camera-friendly. And, of course, things with obvious logos and brand names are not a good choice.

CIA ESCORT & CIA SUITS should bring choices of med to dark suits, lighter long sleeve button front dress shirts and tie choices. The ties should be subtle in pattern and not too bold in color. Don' t forget your dress shoes and belts for this look.

ADMIN TYPES should bring choices of slacks, skirts, long and short sleeve button front blouses and shirts, long and short sleeve pullover shirts and blouses, cardigan sweaters, blazers. Need an "office look" here. Mostly separates, but not really suits. Of course, the right shoes for your choices.

ANALYST should bring choices to include khakis, slacks, skirts. Long and short sleeve button front and pullover shirts and blouses. Ties and scarves. This look is "office appropriate" but somewhat casual. Shoes and belts to work with your choices.

Some of you working in the CIA may be slotted to be a driver in the outdoor scene. Please read below to get instructions for the kinds of things that you will need for that scene.

DRIVERS, PEDESTRIANS AND CHILD should all bring choices of casual and business, season appropriate clothing. Clothes that you would wear to work, the mall, the movies, on a date, etc. This should include jeans, khakis, skirts, dresses, casual long and short sleeve shirts and blouses, cardigan sweaters, light weight jackets, etc. This is a day on a Washington D.C. city street. So we want a mix of work and casual. Everyone please bring options of both so that we can get the right mix.

SAUDI DRIVER should bring a black suit, white shirt and black tie. Also, black shoes, socks and belt.

Thanks in advance for bring great stuff, as always. Have a great weekend and we'll see you on the set!!

Following find the instructions for the different characters working on Wed, 9/7. We are shooting Late Spring/Summer in the show. Your choices should be seasonal to that. CIA HEADQUARTERS 9/6

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!!

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRE-FITS FOR THE PARTY PLEASE SCROLL DOWN A COUPLE OF POSTS. YOU'LL FIND IT THERE. Thanks

Back to the CIA.....

We are in Late Spring/ Early Summer in our story. Don't really want to see the overly bright, saturated colors of summer, though. For colors think the more muted colors associated with Spring. Texture and pattern is good, just nothing too busy or bold.

Following find the specific instructions for the CIA as well as the FBI:

CIA ADMIN TYPES, TECHS, ANALYSTS & SUITS Regardless of the role that you have been told that you are going to play please bring options of all of the following:

business suits, shirts & ties and blouses
sport coats/blazers
casual button front shirts and blouses, long and short sleeve
sweaters, both pullover and cardigan
khakis, slacks and skirts and jeans
hoodies and pullover casual shirts

The costume dept needs the option of dressing everyone up or down as the scene and situation dictates. If you all bring options of all of the above, it makes this possible. Thanks

FBI AGENTS Should bring options of dark suits, light colored shirts including white, cream, tan, light grey and light blue. Please do not bring what we call royal blue or french blue as it is not a good color for the camera. You should also bring dark, subtle ties. They can have pattern, just nothing to bold or busy. Don't forget your dark dress shoes and belts.

Thanks in advance for all the good stuff I know you'll bring! See you on the set!
