Monday 7/16 RAYBURN BUILDING / ASHFORD HOTEL

Hello and welcome.  We are glad that you are going to be joining us tomorrow.  Following you will find instructions for what to bring for your role as a Background player on Monday 7/16.

Many of you will be playing more than one role. Please read the instructions for all the roles that you are being asked to play and bring options for all of them.

Everyone should read the instructions and come dressed in your first, best option based on the descriptions and bring other options with you so that we can look them over.  Bring all of your clothes in with you when you check in.  DO NOT LEAVE ANY OF YOUR CLOTHES IN THE CAR!!!

CONGRESSIONAL AIDES & ESTES AIDE should bring several options of the following:
Suits
Sport coats/blazers
khakis/ dress slacks/ skirts
long sleeve dress shirts/blouses
ties that are not too bold.
dress shoes and belts to work with your options

CONGRESSMEN AND WOMEN  should wear a traditional dark suit.  Please bring options of light colored, long sleeve dress shirts/blouses and conservative ties that are not too bold and conservative, understated jewelry.  Black/dark dress shoes and belt.

REPORTERS should wear and bring a mix of nice casual as well as business to include options of all of the following:
suits, sport coats/blazers
long sleeve dress and casual shirts and ties
dress slacks/skirts/khakis
dresses
cardigan sweaters and light weight jackets
Don't forget your shoes and other accessories that work with your options.

PASSERBY & ND DRIVERS should all wear and bring casual clothing to include non-ripped nice jeans, khakis, skirts, long and short sleeve casual shirts and tops, cardigan sweaters, light weight sweaters and light weight jackets.  Passersby should bring things that are more neutral in color.  We have a Tourist category and I want to save them for bolder color.
Bring the above items in colors like, tan, brown, dark greens, navy, burgundy, grey, etc.

TOURISTS, TOURIST PARENTS AND CHILDREN  should all wear and bring casual clothing to include non-ripped nice jeans, khakis, skirts, dresses, long walking shorts, and colorful long and short sleeve casual shirts and tops.  When I say colorful I would rather see the softer, more faded colors of Spring, rather than the overly saturated and bright colors of Summer.  Patterns and texture is good, just nothing too bold or crazy.

SOUVENIR VENDORS & FOOD VENDOR should wear and bring choices of khaki pants, non-ripped nice jeans and colored polo shirts without large art work or logos.  Brown or black casual shoes and belts to work with your choices.  (I understand that the Food Vendor is an actual food vendor.  Please bring whatever you wear with your own cart, but please also bring the above items so that we can make everyone similar if that is what needs to happen.)

CABBIES should wear and bring casual clothing like non-ripped jeans, khakis, long and short sleeve casual shirts and tops.  Caps without logos would be great if you have them.  Also vests and light weight jackets.

VALET will be given part of your uniform by the Costume Dept.  You should bring with you a white short sleeve, crew neck undershirt, black dress pants and black shoes and belts.

BELLHOPS & DOORMAN will be given a uniform by the Costume Dept.  You should bring with you a white crew neck undershirt, black socks and black dress shoes.

HOTEL GUESTS should all wear and bring several options of business and business casual clothing to include:
suits, sport coats/blazers, ties
dress slacks/skirts
dresses
long sleeve button front dress shirts
long sleeve button front casual shirts
polo shirts
cardigan sweaters
light weight jackets
Dress shoes to work with your options
The look is traditional and conservative.  Things that you would wear to the office, out to dinner, to the theater, etc.  Color and pattern is good, just nothing too bold or bright or busy.

Thank you in advance for bringing all of the great stuff!! We look forward to seeing you on Monday.  Have a great weekend and we'll see you on the set!!
